A Warm Welcome to Shorley Wood Bed and Breakfast

Shorley Wood bed and breakfast offers guests a wonderfully relaxing and comfortable escape in a spacious house located in a unique woodland setting.

Surrounded by peacocks, guinea fowl, chickens, sheep and dogs, Shorley is situated in the heart of rural Hampshire. Near to the historic city of Winchester, the beautiful Georgian town of Alresford and within the South Downs National Park.

Nestled in the center of a 50 acre oak wood, Shorley offers a truly warm, welcoming and hospitable atmosphere with large comfortable rooms furnished with style by its owners Alastair and Mary Gossage. Its fairy tale setting guarantees complete privacy and epitomizes the idyllic country getaway.

In the springtime, the woodland comes alive with a carpet of daffodils stretching out as far as the eye can see – the product of tons of bulbs planted over a 60 year period by Mary’s late parents.

The house offers one large master room with ensuite, along with an interconnecting bedroom to accommodate up to three children. One twin bedded room with shower room next door. And a further double room on request.

We offer both traditional English and Continental breakfasts, freshly prepared with our own eggs and local ingredients wherever possible, and can cater for most dietary needs.

Our B&B is just one mile from the village of Cheriton with lots of interesting places to visit, fabulous walks and a wealth of great pubs with superb food within a five mile radius.
